Category D
This category allows you to drive any bus with more than 8 passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg maximum authorised mass (MAM).
Courses are 3, 4, or 5 days, depending on experience. We always recommend an assessment drive before you book any driving course with us, and you can do this as soon as you have a provisional licence. Our assessments are free of charge.
How to get Started
Step 1:
You need to undergo a driver medical. We recommend a company called D4drivers or you can use your own GP.
Step 2:
Following the medical you will send the D2 and D4 forms with your licence to the DVLA to grant you your provisional entitlement.
Step 3:
When you get your licence back with the provisional entitlement, you can then book your theory tests & your assessment drive. You must pass all three theory tests: the Multiple Choice, the Hazard Perception tests, and the Driver CPC Case Study (if required).
Step 4:
Once you have passed the relevant theory tests, then you can go on to take your practical driving test.
