Our HGV Training Centre is based in Yorkshire and our team of driving experts are more than ready to teach anyone and everyone interested in doing the HGV / LGV or Mini Bus Test and gaining their HGV licence.
Although we can take anyone interested in taking our LGV driving lessons / HGV Training and help them get their full licence in a few days, we also advise that our HGV Driver Training / LGV courses should not be taken lightly or viewed as easy because we understand how difficult it is to get your licence in such a short period of time, which is why our experienced team is here to help you the entire way through your training courses.
We offer many options when it comes to LGV Driving Lessons and gaining your HGV Driving Licence. We have a range of courses available for individuals who are at different levels. From those who have already passed their C Category to those who would like to do their C+E Articulated Licence Test or those who are interested in starting the entire process from the very beginning with one of our new 5 day intensive C+E HGV Training Courses. We can also offer C1 (7.5 tonne) and the PCV (Bus / Coach Licence) and Mini Bus Training too.
Here at Go! Driving we aim to get you results as quickly as we can. If you are ever in a situation where you need to re-test we can offer another day of training and a new test slot exceptionally quick. Our training site is 5 minutes away from the HGV Test Centre and we are based in Yorkshire at Tockwith near Wetherby.
We are more than happy to advise further if you have specific questions about how we do our training, what the test involves, and any further questions you may have whether you’re new to LGV/HGV driving or already have experience and need to refresh your skills, we can help with it all. What do I have to do to pass my Initial Qualification and become a commercial driver?
To order your Provisional Licence application and D4 Medical form please follow this link : https://forms.dft.gov.uk/order-dvla-forms/
There are now four different modules to gaining the LGV driving licence :
- Module 1 – Theory Test – Multiple Choice & Hazard Perception Test
- Module 2 – Theory Test – Driver CPC Case Study
- Module 3a & 3b Practical Test – Practical Driving Test and Off road manouvres
- Module 4 – Practical Test – Driver CPC Practical Demonstration Test
NB. If you only require the licence for personal reasons then you only need to pass Modules 1 and 3. Modules 2 and 4 are only for driving commercially.
Once driving test candidates have passed all four modules, they then become a fully qualified LGV driver and will receive a Driver Qualification Card, which will cover them for five years. Within those five years drivers are required to under-go their Periodic Training which covers them for another five years, and so on.
How to book one of our Courses
We recommend giving us a call first and foremost. Our office team can then understand where you are with the entire process of obtaining your chosen LGV Licence.
There are also packages available that include your medical and the various theory tests you must take. Again we can discuss all this with you.
Ultimately we think you should come along for an assessment of your skills / driving. This will help us put you on the right track and we can suggest the right length of course for you. Our assessments are completed on private land so you can have a drive without any pressure.
